French President Emmanuel Macron admits the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine. This may happen in case of repeated offensive of Russian troops on Kyiv or Odesa.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the representative of the Communist Party of France, Fabien Roussel, who is quoted by L'Independant.
Macron made the corresponding statement at a meeting with parliamentary parties.
Jordan Bardella, a representative of the far-right National Union party, said after the meeting that "there are no restrictions and no red lines." And Manuel Bompard, coordinator of the "Unconquered France" party, said that he "came to the meeting worried and left even more worried."
In his turn, the representative of the communists Russel told the media that Macron showed maps of possible new directions of Russian strikes.
"Macron mentioned a scenario that could trigger an intervention: the advance of the front toward Odesa or toward Kyiv," Russel said.
Macron's idea of sending troops
We will remind, French President Emmanuel Macron did not rule out that NATO may send troops to help Ukraine . The main problem, he said, is that there is currently no consensus on this issue.
A number of NATO countries opposed this idea, in particular, Germany, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland, Spain and Italy.
At the same time, there are countries that are ready to consider such a possibility, for example, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
Canada, which is also a member of NATO, said that it is ready to send troops to Ukraine, but only to train Ukrainian defenders in the territory far from the front
